Was Rafa's rant in vain or did Wiley take note?

at the time when Benitez went off about Fergie everybody thought he'd lost the plot... but did he? it seems the refs took note of what he said, had he not lost it a while back would Vidic have got sent off at Old Trafford and would Gerrard have got that penalty... perhaps the spanish waiter ain't so mad as we thought .
