Why are the Seahawks signing so many running backs in FA?

They already have Shaun Alexander as their feature back...they got Maurice Morris who is a serviceable back-up...and then they go sign T.J. Duckett and Julius Jones? Why? Is Holmgreen cooking up some ingenious plan or has he lost it?
