Has anyone not been excited to be a grandma/grandpa?

If you said you will watch her for the first 6 months ...then stick to this arrangement and do not go beyond it. I don't think you are feeling terrible because you're becoming a grandmother...it's because you feel a hugh responsibility looking after this baby . We became grand parents for the first time a year ago TWINS ...we are so thrilled and really enjoy them . We look after them 1 day every week and no more ...they visit us every 3 weeks and it's lovely to have this new chapter to our lives and of course the new addition to the family. You will love this baby and enjoy her ...but if you don't do it on your terms..then sadly you will become resentful ...so anything you do make sure you are 100% comfortable with it. Don't forget to kiss her little toes when she arrives :)
