space exploration is mainly pure science, or science for the sake of knowledge. This might not help us now, but in the future it will deff help us. For example when that one british guy discovered electricity (not benjamin franklin) and how to move it said that his findings will help the future. Look at the earth today, electricity is everywhere and is used constantly.
